Seresin Pinot Gris is a dry, richly textured Marlborough Pinot Gris from Seresin’s organically and biodynamically farmed Raupo Creek Vineyard in the Omaka Valley. Ripe pear and quince are layered with ginger, gentle spice and a softly creamy character, while vibrant acidity gives the generous palate freshness and drive. Wild fermentation, neutral French oak and time on lees bring depth without introducing obvious oak flavour. It is a satisfying choice for drinkers who prefer Pinot Gris with substance and savoury complexity, particularly alongside roast pork, creamy seafood, lightly spiced Asian dishes or soft cheeses.

What the winery says:

The fruit came from Seresin’s clay-rich Raupo Creek Vineyard, a gently north-west-facing site in the Omaka Valley farmed according to organic and biodynamic principles. It was picked in the early morning, loaded directly into the press without crushing and gently pressed before settling naturally overnight. The juice was racked with light lees to stainless steel and neutral French oak puncheons for wild fermentation. The barrel portion remained on lees for four months and completed malolactic fermentation naturally before blending and filtration. Forty percent of the wine spent four months in neutral oak. Dense pear and quince meet spice and ginger on a lush, rich palate, finishing dry with vibrant acidity.

What the experts say:

Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, 94/100 (2023 Vintage)
"Charming and elegantly complex, the bouquet shows grilled apricot, poached pear, orange peel and warm spice aromas, leading to a wonderfully weighted palate delivering richly textured mouthfeel backed by beautifully pitched acidity, finishing splendidly long and satisfying."

Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review, 93/100 (2023 Vintage)
"Delicately luscious pinot gris with refreshing tree fruit flavours that are enhanced by a hint of sweetness and a suggestion of honeysuckle."
