Gancia Prosecco DOC Brut 200ml NV
Case Buys Only | 24 x 200ml
Gancia Prosecco DOC Brut 200ml brings bright Italian bubbles in a handy single-serve bottle. Made from Glera grown in Veneto, it offers green apple, peach and acacia blossom aromas over a fine, persistent mousse, with a fresh, softly rounded palate and clean fruity finish. Gancia was founded in 1850 and produced Italy's first sparkling wine in 1865, so there is real heritage behind its easy-going charm. Chill it well for an aperitif, pair it with sushi, seafood or fresh cheese, or turn it into a tidy one-glass spritz.
What the winery says:
Glera grapes are gently pressed and vinified as a white wine at controlled temperatures to preserve their primary aromas. The bubbles are created using the Martinotti method, with a slow secondary fermentation in large sealed tanks at 15 to 17°C. The finished wine is straw yellow with greenish reflections, showing green apple, peach, wisteria and acacia flower notes. It is fresh, harmonious and balanced, with fine persistent bubbles, a soft texture and a fruity finish. Serve at 6 to 8°C.
What the experts say:
Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, 4.5 Stars and 90 Points (NV)
"It's immediately appealing on the nose showing peach, citrus and floral with a hint of almond complexity. The palate is bright and juicy with elegant fruit intensity, leading to a lingering finish. This is Prosecco at its best - so refreshing and pleasing on the palate."
Bob Campbell MW, bobcampbell.nz, 4 Stars and 90 Points (NV)
"Appealing Prosecco with a soft, ethereal texture and a nice mix of fruit (citrus and floral mainly) with nutty, savoury characters. A clean, fresh and nicely balanced wine that makes a bit of noise"
