Chapoutier Cotes du Rhone Belleruche Blanc 2023
Case Buys Only | 6 x 750ml
Chapoutier Cotes du Rhone Belleruche Blanc is an expressive Southern Rhone white blending Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Viognier, Clairette and Bourboulenc. Apricot, fennel, white flowers and a gentle touch of aniseed lead into a rounded, elegant palate kept lively by fresh acidity. Five months on fine lees adds subtle texture without dulling its bright fruit. It is a versatile choice for anyone who enjoys aromatic, food-friendly whites with a little more shape and character. Serve lightly chilled with grilled sardines, sea bream, roast vegetables or a relaxed seafood lunch.
What the winery says:
The grapes are grown mainly on stony marl soils and clay-limestone slopes, which provide a steady water supply and warm quickly in spring. Harvest takes place mechanically at night to limit oxidation and preserve aromatic freshness. After complete destemming, the Viognier receives a light skin maceration before gentle pressing and cold settling. Fermentation is carried out at low temperature in stainless-steel vats, with the wine protected from oxygen, followed by five months of ageing on fine lees. The finished wine is bright golden yellow, with apricot, fennel and floral aromas, a rounded yet fresh palate and a subtly aniseed finish.
