Croix de Maunay
Croix de Maunay takes its name from Maunay, a small hamlet near Reugny, just northeast of Vouvray in the Loire Valley, one of the more understated corners of this stretch of the Touraine in central France. The wine reflects the appellation's long-standing reputation for chalky, tuffeau-rich soils, riddled with cellars carved into the rock, that have made Vouvray one of the Loire's most historic addresses for fine white wine.
Made entirely from Chenin Blanc, the grape that defines Vouvray, the wine follows the appellation's classic off-dry style, balancing honeyed fruit against the variety's naturally high acidity. Chenin Blanc's versatility across dry, off-dry and sparkling styles has long made Vouvray a benchmark for the grape, and this bottling stays close to that traditional, gently sweet expression of it.
