Clos du Bois is a Sonoma County winery in California's Alexander Valley, founded in 1974 by Frank Woods and Tom Reed. The name, suggested by Woods' children, pairs the French clos, a walled vineyard, with bois, meaning woods, to give vineyard of the woods. Early releases, including the Bordeaux-style Marlstone blend and a Cabernet Sauvignon called Briarcrest, built the winery's reputation through the 1980s, alongside Chardonnay that became one of its best-known wines. Ownership has changed hands since 1988, though the name remains in continuous use.

Clos du Bois farms vineyards across the Alexander Valley and draws further fruit from Sonoma County areas such as Dry Creek Valley, Knights Valley and the Russian River Valley, giving the range a wide spread of soils and mesoclimates. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot remain central to the reds, while Chardonnay anchors the whites, reflecting the varieties that first built the winery's name.
