Two Paddocks Riesling is a dry, tightly wound Central Otago Riesling with jasmine, lime and stony mineral notes leading into a richly textured palate full of freshness, tension and drive. The fruit comes from a tiny half-hectare block at Two Paddocks’ organically farmed Red Bank Vineyard in Alexandra, where hot summer days encourage ripe stone-fruit character before the cooling ‘Roxburgh Doctor’ wind arrives each afternoon. Precise, distinctive and built with food in mind, this is excellent alongside oysters, creamy pasta or anything carrying a decent hit of spice.
What the winery says:
An estate-grown, single-block Riesling from Red Bank Vineyard in Earnscleugh, Alexandra. The clone 110 vines are planted in free-draining schist loam and are hand harvested, producing some of the ripest and most intense Riesling fruit on the estate. Jasmine, lime and oyster-shell aromas meet a dry, vibrant and richly textured palate, with enough acidity and concentration to give the wine both immediate energy and excellent ageing potential.
