Rocky Point Pinot Noir 2023
Case Buys Only | 12 x 750ml
Rocky Point Pinot Noir is the more relaxed side of Prophet's Rock, a Central Otago producer whose reputation was built on some of the steepest schist-laden slopes above Lake Dunstan. Hand-picked and wild-fermented with a portion of whole bunches, it shows bright cherry and red berry fruit laced with wild herbs and a touch of spice. Built to drink young without losing the detail this site is known for, it's a smart pour for a proper Otago pinot.
What the winery says
Made by Prophet's Rock from fruit grown on the steep, schist-based slopes of the Rocky Point Vineyard in Bendigo, Central Otago, this pinot is hand-picked and gently handled with just one punchdown before wild fermentation with some whole bunches in the mix. It shows bright ruby colour and aromas of red berry, cherry, floral and spice notes, leading to a smooth, velvety palate with mineral and dried herb undertones. It suits everything from roast chicken to a mushroom risotto.
