Penkridge Farm Central Otago Pinot Gris 2025
Case Buys Only | 6 x 750ml
Penkridge Farm Central Otago Pinot Gris is a fresh, textural white shaped by Central Otago's warm days and cool nights. Asian pear and bright citrus lead the way, flowing onto a gently weighted palate with fine acidity and a clean, refreshing finish. The fruit was hand-harvested from Penkridge Farm's boutique vineyard beneath the Pisa Range, where shallow soils over deep gravel deposits help build concentration while the cool evenings preserve freshness. Vegan and sustainably produced, this is an easy wine to enjoy chilled on a sunny afternoon, with enough flavour and texture to carry through the meal.
What the winery says:
A long late-spring frost reduced the crop after damaging some young shoots, although settled flowering weather was followed by very warm summer and autumn days and cool nights. These conditions helped the grapes retain the acidity needed for an elegant, balanced wine. The fruit was hand-harvested in April 2025 and the wine was bottled in September. The winery describes layers of Asian pear and citrus on the nose, followed by pear and citrus flavours, lovely weight and texture, fine acidity and a refreshing finish. Made by Matt Connell, it contains 13% alcohol and 5.4 grams per litre of residual sugar. The wine is vegan and certified under Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand.
