Made from South Eastern Australian fruit fermented on oak at cool temperatures to protect varietal character, it's a versatile red suited to most red meat dishes and mature cheeses. What the winery says:

The grapes are crushed and de-stemmed, then fermented on oak at cool temperatures of 18 to 22 degrees for five to seven days, a process McGuigan uses to nurture fruit flavour and retain varietal character. Most of the wine is then matured in stainless steel tanks before the components are selected, blended, stabilised and clarified.
