Trapiche Oak Cask Malbec brings together ripe blackberry, plum and dark cherry with a polished layer of vanilla, smoke and gentle spice. This is generous Mendoza Malbec rather than a heavyweight bruiser, with a rounded texture, succulent fruit and fine, chalky tannins keeping the finish pleasantly dry. What the winery says:

This 100% Malbec comes from vineyards in the high zone of the Mendoza River. The grapes are manually harvested, destemmed and cold macerated before a 15-day fermentation with selected yeasts. After controlled natural malolactic fermentation, the wine receives nine months of oak contact. Expect an intense red colour with violet hues, plum and cherry aromas, and a rounded palate carrying notes of vanilla and truffle.
