Jacobs Creek Double Barrel Shiraz 2022
Case Buys Only | 6 x 750ml
Jacob's Creek Double Barrel Shiraz comes from the Barossa Valley, aged first in traditional American oak before selected parcels are finished in aged Scotch whisky barrels for extra richness. The nose is intense with cedar, vanilla bean and buttered toast, joined by pecan nut and roast cashew, while the palate turns savoury and generous with blackberry, ripe plum and integrated charry oak running through to a soft, lingering finish. It's a medium to full-bodied red built for the barbecue - pan-seared scotch fillet wrapped in smoky bacon is the classic match, though a rich rib eye works just as well.
What the winery says:
The full, generous flavours of Shiraz are enhanced by careful use of aged Scotch whisky barrels for finishing. The intense nose offers cedar, vanilla bean and buttered toast with notes of pecan nut and roast cashew. An attractive, savoury palate of blackberry and ripe plum follows, with integrated charry notes and a lovely soft finish. Double Barrel wines are first matured in traditional wine barrels, then finished in aged whisky barrels to build additional layers of complexity.
