Gancia Prosecco DOC Dry NV
Case Buys Only | 6 x 750ml
Gancia Prosecco DOC Dry brings an easy, crowd-friendly sparkle with golden apple, acacia blossom and a soft, fresh palate carried by fine, persistent bubbles. Made from Glera within Italy's Prosecco DOC, it sits on the rounded, gently sweet-fruited side of the style, finishing cleanly with plenty of fruit. Gancia has been making Italian sparkling wine since the nineteenth century, so there is genuine heritage behind the cheerful price tag. Chill it well for aperitivo hour, pour it alongside seafood, fresh cheeses or light antipasti, or put it to work in a Spritz when the occasion calls for something bright and sociable.
What the winery says:
The winery describes a straw-yellow wine with greenish reflections, a fine, persistent bead and aromas of golden apple and acacia flowers. Glera grapes are softly pressed and vinified without their skins at 18°C, with careful temperature control to retain aroma. The bubbles are created by slow second fermentation in large sealed tanks using the Martinotti method at 15-17°C. Alcohol is 11.5%, and Gancia recommends serving it at 8-10°C as an aperitif, with light first courses, antipasti, fresh cheeses or seafood, or as a cocktail base.
