Church Road Gwen Hawke's Bay Rose is a dry, Provence-style rosé made from 100% Hawke's Bay Merlot. Pale in the glass, it leads with bright red berry fruit, light florals and a touch of soft herbs, giving the wine a gently savoury edge rather than simple fruit sweetness. Extended time on yeast lees after fermentation fills out the mid-palate, adding texture without dulling the wine's natural freshness. The result is crisp, elegant and easy-drinking, built for warm days and casual company. Named for Florence Gwendolen "Gwen" Brown, wife of Church Road's pioneering winemaker Tom McDonald, it carries a lovely piece of the winery's own history in every glass.
