Chateau Marsyas B-Qa De Marsyas Red comes from the same vineyards as its senior sibling, Chateau Marsyas, an estate the Saadé family established in 2005 on virgin land at the southern end of Lebanon's Bekaa Valley. Sitting near 990 metres at the foot of Mount Barouk, the site was chosen with input from Bordeaux consultant Stephane Derenoncourt, and the vines are grown on red clay and limestone under a Mediterranean climate of dry summers and cool nights. B-Qa draws on the estate's younger parcels and is built to show the same character as the flagship wine earlier and more affordably, blending Cabernet Sauvignon with Syrah, Merlot and a touch of Petit Verdot. Its name honours Marsyas, the name the Bekaa Valley carried in antiquity, recorded by both Strabo and Pliny the Elder.

What the winery says:
The wine spends eight to ten months in barrel, a gentle ageing regime that rounds out the tannins while keeping the finesse and minerality that define the style. It's made with the same attention to detail as the flagship Chateau Marsyas, just released earlier and at a more approachable price point. Expect a structured, medium to full bodied red with dark fruit, spice and firm but polished tannins, built to pair well with grilled and roasted meats. At 14.5 percent alcohol it has real weight without losing its sense of balance.
