Barrel and lees ageing bring hints of nutmeg, wet stone and lightly roasted almond. The palate is dry and medium bodied, with vibrant acidity and a long, chalky finish. The wine is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc, with 98% of the fruit sourced from the Ballochdale Vineyard in Marlborough's Awatere Valley. The grapes were hand harvested and tank fermented with selected Sauvignon Blanc yeasts. A portion underwent natural malolactic fermentation in seasoned oak barriques, and the wines remained on yeast lees until blending.
