A very dry spring reduced vine vigour and supported a good fruit set, while light rain after Christmas kept the vines healthy without creating significant disease pressure. The grapes were harvested between 23.5 and 24.1 Brix, destemmed into open-top fermenters and gently plunged and pumped over during fermentation. After 28 days on skins, the wine was pressed into French oak barrels, including 17% new oak, and matured for 12 months.
